Team Knocking Out Cancer

My mom is the reason I started this work. When I was two years old, she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and watching her strength through that fight shaped how I understand courage, family, and giving back. Everything I do with Blood Cancer United is for her and for every family facing the same diagnosis. Serving as Head of the Leadership Committee for the Long Island Student Visionaries of the Year campaign has allowed me to turn my passion for helping others into meaningful action. Through Team Knocking Out Cancer, I helped raise more than $54,000 to support blood cancer research and families affected by these diseases. I also brought instrumental students together to volunteer at the Light The Night Walk and Big Climb at Citi Field, creating opportunities for students to give back. These experiences have shown me the power of community and how coming together for a cause can make a lasting difference.

Creative Readers Program

The Creative Readers Program has given me the opportunity to support students and adults with learning and developmental disabilities through reading, crafts, music, and theater. I founded and manage the program’s social media account, helping share its work and impact with the community. I also assist with theatrical productions and rehearsals, providing hands-on support wherever needed, and taught an elderly program leader how to use Instagram.

Public service & local government

Working with the campaign team for Marianne Dalimonte, I gained firsthand experience in civic engagement, community outreach, and public service. I conducted voter outreach through canvassing and phone banks and created social media content. Later, through my internship in her office, I helped launch community initiatives, including the construction of a local marine Oyster Garden with Residents Forward, an environmental protection group.

Campaign work with Tom Suozzi

I gained firsthand experience in political engagement through Tom Suozzi’s campaign, speaking directly with voters through door-to-door canvassing, managing campaign inquiries, and helping coordinate community outreach events. This experience strengthened my communication skills and understanding of how campaigns connect with their communities.
